About the position The Assistant Professor in Psychology and Counseling will be responsible for teaching courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program and undergraduate psychology courses at Hardin-Simmons University. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, advising students, collaborating with faculty and staff, and engaging in professional development and scholarly work. Responsibilities Teach lower- and upper-level undergraduate Psychology classes. , Prepare and deliver lectures to students for a minimum of 24 credit hours per year. , Teach courses and supervise students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) master's program. , Advise current and prospective students in the CMHC program. , Collaborate effectively with university faculty, staff, and administrators, as well as members of the community. , Participate in recruitment activities for the Department of Psychology and Counseling, the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts, as well as HSU. , Provide service to HSU through involvement in committees and other HSU activities (e.g., commencement). , Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarly work. Requirements Doctoral degree in Counselor Education, Psychology, or related studies from a CACREP accredited program. , Evidence of scholarly achievements and teaching ability, including satisfactory completion of a teaching demonstration. , Current license from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. , Valid Class C Driver's License with a clear driving record.
