Key Responsibilities As a Remote Data Entry Pharmacy Technician at blithequark, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Performing data entry tasks with high accuracy and efficiency, ensuring that all patient and prescription information is up-to-date and readily available. Assisting pharmacists by receiving new written or electronic prescriptions or refill requests, verifying the accuracy and completeness of patient information, including date of birth, phone number, address, disease states, allergies, prescriber information, and billing information. Receiving new prescriptions from doctors’ offices, gathering necessary information, and referring medical questions to pharmacists as needed. Accessing, inputting, and retrieving patient and prescription information into and from the computer system, successfully and efficiently billing insurance and generating labels for medications. Completing required documentation for CII orders and ensuring that all controlled substance dispensing rules are followed. Conducting patient, provider, and third-party outreach calls as necessary, and maintaining effective communication with all staff regarding the data entry process, denied claims, and daily progress. Maintaining regular and punctual attendance, developing courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers. Working with pharmacists to ensure proper Medicare DMEPOS paperwork is complete, providing appropriate products to customers, and maintaining accurate billing records. Assisting stores in the completion of MTMs and data collection, and supporting RDOs in completing tasks as necessary for the Operations team. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience, with extensive knowledge of pharmacy operations and data entry systems. Current licensure with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and third-party representatives. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use resources to resolve issues efficiently. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and patient care. Current national pharmacy technician certification, with a high school diploma or GED and a strong science background. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Extensive knowledge of Pioneer Rx or other pharmacy management systems. Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with strong self-motivation and discipline. Familiarity with pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic techniques. Strong math skills and knowledge of the metric system.
