Your day will be filled with a variety of tasks, including: * **Welcoming customers**: Greet customers warmly and make them feel at home in our store. * **Assisting customers**: Help customers find the products and services they need to achieve their home improvement goals. * **Loading merchandise**: Occasionally load merchandise for customers, ensuring they receive their purchases quickly and efficiently. * **Ensuring customer needs are met**: Go above and beyond to ensure all customer needs are met, whether it's answering questions or resolving issues. **Key Responsibilities** As a Customer Service Associate, you'll be responsible for: * **Welcoming customers**: Answer questions, deliver friendly and professional customer service, and ensure customers feel comfortable in our store. * **Assisting customers**: Help customers locate and handle merchandise, ensuring they receive the products and services they need. * **Down stocking merchandise**: Regularly check shelves for empty areas and replenish supplies to maintain a well-stocked store. * **Processing orders and deliveries**: Accurately process orders and deliveries to ensure customers receive their merchandise as expected and on time. * **Cross-functionally training**: Train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service and support your colleagues. * **Preparing merchandise**: Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting and threading pipe. * **Guiding customers**: Guide customers through shopping or checkout, ensuring they have a seamless and enjoyable experience. * **Completing other duties**: Perform other duties as assigned by your manager or supervisor. **Minimum Qualifications** To be considered for this role, you'll need: * **6 months of experience using a computer**: You should be comfortable using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information. * **6 months of experience using common retail technology**: You should be familiar with using smart phones and tablets in a retail environment. * **Basic arithmetic skills**: You should be able to perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction. * **Reading, writing, and communication skills**: You should be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. * **Physical abilities**: You should be able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties. * **Lifting requirements**: You should be able to minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation. **Preferred Qualifications** While not required, we encourage applicants with: * **6 months of retail and/or customer service experience**: If you have experience in retail or customer service, we'd love to hear from you! * **Bi-lingual skills**: If you're fluent in multiple languages, you'll be able to communicate with customers from diverse backgrounds. * **Certification in a trade related to your department**: If you have certification in a trade related to your department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials, you'll be well-equipped to assist customers. **Lowes commitment to growth and teamwork extends to the community as well. You may be exposed to: * **Inside and outside weather conditions**: You may work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. * **Constant or intermittent noises**: You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises, including moving or shaking objects and equipment. * **Lifting methods**: You'll need to follow guidelines for lifting, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
