Job Overview We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Customer Service Representatives to join our remote team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will play a vital role in providing professional, accurate, and empathetic support to patients, providers, and members, with a focus on servicing Veterans and their families. Key Responsibilities Respond to inbound calls, emails, and chat inquiries regarding healthcare services, benefits, and claims, providing timely and accurate information to customers. Assist patients and providers in navigating healthcare plans, resolving concerns, and addressing questions or issues in a professional and courteous manner. Identify customer concerns, provide solutions or escalate as needed, and manage follow-ups to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction. Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, case documentation, and maintaining accurate customer records, to ensure seamless service delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as claims, billing, and care coordination, to share best practices and improve service delivery. Educate members about health services, benefits, and coverage options, explaining claims processes, billing procedures, and how to access healthcare services in a clear and concise manner. Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance when handling customer data, following company protocols for customer interactions and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Essential Qualifications Reside in one of the following locations: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington State. At least 2 years of experience in healthcare-related customer service or call center roles, with a strong preference for experience in Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, or VA. Technical skills, including comfort with PC-based systems and experience working with call quality systems and CRM tools, such as Salesforce, NICE, or Microsoft Dynamics. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to assess and resolve customer issues in a professional and empathetic manner. Ability to type while speaking/listening, with good speed and accuracy, while maintaining accurate documentation of customer interactions. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience handling healthcare claims or provider calls, with a strong understanding of healthcare plans, benefits, and services. Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage sensitive or emotional conversations with professionalism and empathy. Remote Work Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need a quiet, dedicated home workspace free of distractions, with reliable high-speed internet (minimum 50Mbps down / 7 Mbps up) and a wired internet connection (LAN) preferred. You will also need to be able to perform basic troubleshooting with phone support from our tech team and have the ability to use company-provided equipment, including a computer, monitors, webcam, headset, and cables. Training and Schedule We offer 5 weeks of live, paid virtual training, which will be conducted via MS Teams. It is essential that you attend all training sessions with your camera on, in full-view, and with full engagement, as this will be critical to your success in this role. Please note that no absences are allowed unless in emergency situations, and full attendance is required to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this position. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base pay rate of $17.75/hour, plus an additional $5.36/hour applied toward health and welfare benefits or retirement, depending on your benefit election. If you do not require health benefits, the $5.36 per hour will be placed in a 401(a)-tax deferred account, with 3% of the funds matched by blithequark.
