Key Responsibilities Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of sports data disseminated by the Data and Insights team at blithequark. Work independently and in teams to deliver accurate detailed analysis, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power numerous blithequark products and productions. Develop and maintain an active knowledge of the Data and Insights team's role in fueling blithequark's digital products and television productions. Verify the results of your own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who are managing full-time and part-time staff. Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate promptly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues. Play a proactive role in collaborating with stakeholders to develop or refine production processes. Be an active participant in team and department meetings. Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance. Stay informed about current office policies and procedures. Essential Qualifications Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports. Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (exclusively), weekends, and holidays. Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products. Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments. Ability to communicate confidently – verbally and in writing – to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media. Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes. Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products. Experience leading or mentoring a team. Ability to speak and write Spanish. Experience using social media in a business or news environment. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education Higher education or equivalent.
