You'll learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe. Additionally, you'll be responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance to sell entire projects * Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions * Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe * Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty * Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments * Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction * Develop and maintain relationships with customers to build loyalty and drive repeat business * Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to provide expert advice and guidance to customers **Essential Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred * 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management * Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales and customer service targets * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time **Preferred Qualifications** * 2-3 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment * Experience working in a sales-driven environment, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets * Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services * Experience working with customers to identify and meet their needs, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences * Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues to achieve sales and customer service targets **Skills and Competencies** * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management * Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales and customer service targets * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues to achieve sales and customer service targets * Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and mutual support **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
