Job Overview As a Ticket/Gate Agent at blithequark, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, greeting them warmly and guiding them through the ticketing and baggage check-in process. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow with our company, and we offer comprehensive training and mentorship to help you advance your career. Your responsibilities will include managing the check-in and boarding processes, making gate announcements, and ensuring that customers have the necessary travel documentation. In addition to customer service, you will be responsible for physically handling baggage, operating loading bridges, and escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport. Key Responsibilities Owning the check-in process, boarding process, and seat availability, ensuring that all customers are properly checked in and boarded on time. Making gate announcements and ensuring customers have the accurate travel documentation, providing clear and concise information to ensure a smooth travel experience. Tagging and lifting baggage from scales to conveyor belts, with some bags weighing up to 70 pounds, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail. Operating loading bridges, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors, and ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo and passengers. Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their safety and comfort. Scheduling based on operational needs, with shifts ranging from early morning to overnight, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency, and be at least 18 years of age with authorization to work in the United States. You will also need to have proficiency in English, strong verbal and written communication skills, and basic digital literacy. Additionally, you will need to pass a physical ability test (PAT) and a Customer Service Assessment, and be able to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal. Essential Qualifications Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency, demonstrating a commitment to education and personal development. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States, meeting all legal requirements for employment. Basic digital literacy, with the ability to use technology to perform job duties and access information.
