you'll be responsible for: * Assisting customers with order problem resolution, freight/shipping inquiries, lead time, and order status updates * Processing returns, helpdesks, and logging detailed customer/order comments as needed * Working closely with Warehouse QA Groups and Purchasing Department to resolve customer problems in a timely manner * Making follow-up calls to customers regarding order information, such as ETA, tracking numbers, and problem resolution * Entering customer orders submitted by phone or mail and updating customer information in our computer system * Assisting customers with product selection, pricing, samples, catalog requests, and non-stock items * Processing in-house inventory requests, associate orders, and boot program orders * Handling calls to technical, custom, credit, accounting, and sales teams to ensure quick and accurate service for customers * Assisting the Customer Service Group with any issues they may encounter with orders as needed * Providing information to team leaders and quality assurance regarding customer feedback on service or product satisfaction * Extensively cross-training to stay up-to-date on other department procedures to direct customers correctly and provide exceptional service * Calculating freight quotes for vendor drop ship items and FOB items being shipped from blithequark * Processing returns and freight claims on drop ship orders **Associate Responsibilities** As a valued member of our team, you'll be expected to: * Understand, support, and live our core values, including Candor, High commitment to continuous learning **Education and Experience** * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience * One to three years of related experience and/or training in customer service, preferably in a fast-paced environment * Ability to multi-task and handle difficult customer questions and situations **Skills and Competencies** * Excellent phone skills with good voice tone when talking with customers * Ability to maintain confidentiality with company-related issues and materials * Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills * Ability to analyze situations and make sound, confident decisions * Highly organized and accurate with handling multiple tasks * Excellent researching abilities * Proficient typing skills (35-45 wpm) * Ability to use personal computers and applicable computer software * Ability to navigate the internet (a plus) * Business professional attire required with good personal hygiene habits **Language Skills** * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures * Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from managers, team leaders, customers, vendors, and other associates **Mathematical Skills** * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to compute rate and percent * Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts and percentages **Reasoning Ability** * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form **Physical Demands** * Continuously required to sit for four hours at a time, talk, hear, bend wrist left/right and up/down * Frequently required to use hands and fingers to feel and grasp * Occasionally required to push/pull chair, twist while sitting, walk, stand, lift and carry less than 10 lbs up to 25 lbs, reach above/at/below shoulder, turn hand palm side up * Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus **Work Environment** * Works inside under artificial lighting and in normal temperatures * Constant noise level in the work environment **Compensation and Benefits** * Competitive fixed pay rate of $18.00 * Eligibility to participate in an annual
