As a Data Scientist (L5) on our Customer Service team, you will be part of a dynamic group of professionals who are passionate about using data to drive business decisions and improve customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities** As a Data Scientist (L5) on our Customer Service team, you will be responsible for: * **Leading the evolution of CS metrics**: Identify "north star" metrics and the ways CS teams can drive them to deliver exceptional customer experiences. * **Critical thinking and measurement techniques**: Think critically about business problems and deploy the appropriate measurement technique to drive data-driven decision-making. * **Collaboration and partnership**: Partner with executives, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Finance to further a statistically rigorous, data-driven decision-making culture in CS. * **Experimentation and research**: Identify opportunity areas for experimentation and research to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. * **Metric expansion**: Expand the use of CS metrics across blithequark, where they hold insights for Product, Engineering, and Data Science. **Essential Qualifications** To be successful in this role, you will need: * **Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field**: A strong foundation in statistical knowledge and intuition is essential for this role. * **Strong SQL skills and programming experience**: Proficiency in Python is preferred, but experience with other programming languages is also valuable. * **Effective communication skills**: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and convey clear recommendations to a variety of audiences, including Engineering, Product, and senior leadership. * **Experience with measurement and prediction techniques**: Familiarity with a wide range of measurement and prediction techniques, including correlation analysis, observational causal inference, forecasting, and quasi experimentation. * **Comfort with complex data**: Ability to thrive with minimal oversight and process, working with complex data to drive business decisions. **Preferred Qualifications** While prior experience with Customer Service is not required, a desire to learn and become an expert is a must. Additionally, experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP, are highly valued. **Compensation and Benefits** At blithequark, we offer a competitive compensation structure, with an annual salary range of $170,000 - $720,000. You will also have the opportunity to choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
