Associate Merchandise Planner, Makeup
About the position Responsibilities • Manage Brand Planning for pre-season and in-season timeframes to meet SKU in-stock and DOH targets. • Create pre-season Brand Budget Plans in partnership with Inventory Directors, Merchants, and Vendors. • Develop New Brand strategies, projected sales, inventory by SKU needs, and order flow setups for launch timeframes. • Own accurate monthly in-season Open to Buy (OTB) sales, gross margin percentage, receipt, and inventory adjustment projections. • Reconcile OTB Sales and Receipt projections with Replenishment/Demand Planning system forecasts. • Present at monthly cross-functional OTB meetings. • Partner with Demand Planning on forecast alignment and strategy. • Guide Merchandise Planning Assistants to prioritize newness and important orders, and communicate delays in key launches. • Analyze and validate sales and inventory needs for Key Initiatives, Animations, and promotions. • Conduct Newness hindsight and key initiatives analysis on a seasonal basis. • Develop liquidation strategy for exit brands/collections or overstock. • Maintain consistent communication with vendors regarding sales performance, in-stocks, and outstanding issues. • Validate productive assortment through analysis and recommendations in collaboration with the Merchandising Team. Requirements • 1-3 years of Planning experience. • Excellent technical skills in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word. • Ability to contribute new ideas and find solutions to business challenges in merchandising, operations, and finance. • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data into intelligent business decisions. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and task management skills. • Clear and concise written, verbal, and presentation skills. • Good negotiation skills. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, often-changing environment. • Flexible team player. Nice-to-haves • Experience in retail or beauty industry planning is a plus. • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
