We are looking for a smart, passionate, and driven Recruiter to join our Staples team and you might be the person we are looking for. As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Staples you will be responsible for supporting all elements of recruiting including sourcing, qualifying candidates, interviewing, negotiation of offers and in some instances even making the hiring decisions for our direct hire roles. You will use different technology and social platforms to help find the ideal candidates for our open positions and will collaborate with hiring managers to get the right talent for their needs. Depending upon the roles you support, you could be support both full time and temporary staffing needs and may focus on specific elements of the recruiting process at different times. We utilize a team approach to hiring, so you will always be challenged in whatever assignment you have. In this role know what it means to nurture relationships, and actively communicate with the candidate throughout the process. You are a master at closing the deal, with strong negotiation and influencing skills. You are a highly effective communicator and are seen by the business as the expert at assessing talent. This is a collaborative role, working across the Talent Acquisition team, Staples hiring managers and HR Business Partners to build a team of talented individuals that will support a best-in-class organization. How you’ll make an impact (Knowledge and Skills): Identify Talent Needs: Using a consultative approach, conduct needs analysis conversations and ask probing questions to align with business expectations. Utilizing market data, identify challenges with pay, job descriptions, hiring manager expectations, and advise as to best approach. Source Talent: Know where to find the talent for each role and how to effectively communicate with passive candidates. Encourage hiring managers to consider internal candidates and to support a diverse pipeline for role. For temporary staffing, monitor supplier submittals against requisition requirements. Recruitment Marketing: Maintain active candidate pipelines and communicate relevant materials. Utilize silver medalists as source for future communications. Utilizes social media to promote roles. Clearly articulate Staples employer value proposition and the opportunity this creates for potential candidates to advance their career at Staples. Manage Candidate Experience: Pro-actively communicate with candidates throughout the process. Set expectations with hiring managers and actively drives hiring process. For temporary staffing, monitor performance of participating staffing suppliers. Seek other opportunities for candidates across company if not a fit for current role. Assess & Hire Talent: Use behavioral based interviewing techniques to assess candidates and technology to effectively screen candidates where applicable. Effectively manage counteroffers through strong negotiating skills. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • 3+ years of full life cycle recruiting • Must be fluent in both verbal and written English • Deep experience with professional networking sites including niche. • Understands sourcing techniques (e.g. Boolean searches). • Solid understanding and demonstrated use of an ATS, Recruitment Marketing, and Excel • Understanding of current employment laws including OFCCP's guidelines for fair hiring practices. • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) • Must reside in one of the following Provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan • Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree preferred • Experience working with AI/Chatbot for recruitment (auto scheduling, pre-screening)
